Iron Giant doodle

I re-watched Brad Bird’s Iron Giant movie last night, It’s one of my favorite animated films!

It took me a while to get round to watching it as I had initially written it off as your usual bad Hollywood kids movie gunk ( I think this may have been down to a bad marketing campaign by Warner Brothers which sold it as “bad Hollywood kids movie gunk”).

I ended up catching it on TV on a quiet sunday and was absolutely gobsmacked at how good this movie was. The storytelling, animation and design all amazing. It’s a real shame that very few people watched this on release this is something I would love to see on the big screen!

Anyway as you can see I have knocked out a quick doodle of said Iron Giant, though I may redo the shading as I have seem to gone a bit screen tone crazy! If I have time I may draw him a body and give him a lick of paint.

If you never seen it I suggest you go to you local video shop and rent it (amazon also have it for very cheap).

Briareos Hecatonchires - Work in progress

This is a rough doodle I’m doing of Briareos Hecatonchires from Appleseed, It was inspired a drawing that Brandon Graham posted on his blog.

I don’t normally get to flex my Sci-Fi/Manga Muscles as I tend to focus on more cartoony style stuff but I’m having a lot of fun with this image. As you can see I have yet to finish his legs and the shading is very rough, I will post the finished Image soon!

The Tea Review!! make us a brew - english breakfast tea

I love drinking tea, it is one of the finest things to grace this world.
Occasionally I will be using my blog to write about teas that I like and recommend , and if you like drinking tea as much as me then this might be interesting for you!
Make us a brew is a company founded by DJ, Cartoonist and Tea connoisseur Mr Scruff, at the moment he has four teas in his “make us a brew” line, My favourite is the english breakfast tea.
It has a strong sturdy flavour perfect to help you wake up in the morning make your monday morning commute to work slightly less painful! Even though it says english breakfast on the tin its suitable for drinking all day long and brews particularly well in a teapot, one to serve your friends!

You can get it directly from the make us a brew website and quite a few good food shops dotted around the UK and as you can see it comes in a rather fetching tea caddy covered in some rather fine Mr Scruff cartoon magic!
