Dave Gibbons Manga Studio Web Tutorial!

A few weeks ago Dave Gibbons gave a very insightful video streamed tutorial on how to use Manga Studio, and now you can view it in its entirety here at Smith Micro’s Manga Studio Website http://manga.smithmicro.com/webinar_video.html

If you don’t know what Manga Studio is, It’s a very powerful program for creating comic books.
I have been using it to draw my ImagineFX strips since last Novemeber!

(Below is a screen cap from Dave Gibbons tutorial!).

Iron Giant doodle

I re-watched Brad Bird’s Iron Giant movie last night, It’s one of my favorite animated films!

It took me a while to get round to watching it as I had initially written it off as your usual bad Hollywood kids movie gunk ( I think this may have been down to a bad marketing campaign by Warner Brothers which sold it as “bad Hollywood kids movie gunk”).

I ended up catching it on TV on a quiet sunday and was absolutely gobsmacked at how good this movie was. The storytelling, animation and design all amazing. It’s a real shame that very few people watched this on release this is something I would love to see on the big screen!

Anyway as you can see I have knocked out a quick doodle of said Iron Giant, though I may redo the shading as I have seem to gone a bit screen tone crazy! If I have time I may draw him a body and give him a lick of paint.

If you never seen it I suggest you go to you local video shop and rent it (amazon also have it for very cheap).
